James Allen "Jack" Jones, 91, died peacefully Saturday, May 3rd in the loving arms of his devoted wife of sixty-four years. Jack worked for the Duval County School Board for 30 years as a teacher, coach and principal. He was a member of the Murray Hill United Methodist Church since 1953 and served in many capacities. Jack served in the army during WWI He was born in New Lacy Georgia on February 13, 1923, to Charles Franklin Jones and Mabel Smith. Jack worked for the Duval County School Board for 30 years as a teacher, coach and principal. He was a member of the Murray Hill United Methodist Church since 1953 and served in many capacities. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Juanita Burford Jones: two daughters, Teresa (Nixon) Chason and Jacquelyn (Brendon) Dillon: 5 grandsons, Michael Jones, Patrick Dillon, James Dillon, Tyler Dillon, Nicholas Chason and 3 great-grandchildren, Devin, Darian, and Illyssa.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S Edgewood Ave. Jax. FL 32205. Services will be Wednesday May 10, 2014, at Murray Hill United Methodist Church, 4101 College St. Jax. 32205, with the family receiving guests beginning at 10:30 AM, followed by Funeral Services at 11 AM, Pastor Pam Hall officiating. The family will reconvene at 2 PM, for interment at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jax. Fl 32205.
