Gladys Huffman Roy, age 89, of Riverside Presbyterian House, Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on November 25, 2016 from a cerebral hemorrhage.

She was born in Detroit Michigan on March 15, 1927 the daughter of Glad Williams Huffman and Verda Madison Rowan Huffman. She is predeceased by her parents and husband, Martin L. Roy and her sister Mary Sue Huffman Wooden (Dr. William Rogers). She is survived by her niece, Patricia Wooden Baldwin (James G.) and her nephew, William Rogers Wooden, Jr.

Gladys married Martin L. Roy on August 15, 1953 in Washington, D.C....

Gladys married Martin L. Roy on August 15, 1953 in Washington, D.C. After several years of military service they lived in Warrenton Virginia until his death in on August 24, 1995. Gladys then resided in Jacksonville Florida with her sister Mary and Bill Wooden.

Gladys enjoyed walks in the park, staying up to date on current events and visiting with family and friends. Her humble generosity towards those in need was admirable. Her gentle spirit and wit will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Riverside Presbyterian House, 2020 Park Street, Jacksonville FL 32204. She will be buried alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery, date yet to be announced.
